Regulating Energy Drink Sales Why The Sale Of Energy...

Regulate Energy Drink Sales Why the Sale of Energy Drinks should be regulated Energy drinks, canned beverages that combine caffeine with sugar and other mood-affecting ingredients, are becoming more and more popular. At almost any convenience store one can find a rack of energy drinks, and it is not uncommon to see young people drinking them around campus or in the city. Unlike coffee or tea, which have naturally occurring caffeine, energy drinks have chemically produced caffeine and other chemicals in varying amounts and combinations. Energy drinks also do not require the same labeling as other foods, so people might not know what they’re consuming, or how much they’re consuming. The increasing prevalence of energy drinks, along with†¦show more content†¦Now, it is also important to establish what is meant by the thesis, the sale of energy drinks should be regulated. Specifically, one must consider what is regulation over the â€Å"sale of† energy drinks. It is the position of thi s paper that the â€Å"sale of drinks† includes the obvious over the counter exchange of canned drink for currency, but that the sale of energy drinks is also larger. Is it not true that one’s purchasing decisions are motivated not only by in-the-moment desires, but also by more subtle factors such as subconscious biases and the presence or absence of certain pertinent pieces of information? The sale of an energy drink is part of an ecosystem of factors, some of which far precede the actual moment of purchase and some of which might alter the purchase decision if they had been present. For instance, frequent television marketing will have an undeniable affect on the subconscious to the point that one’s decision, while it may seem autonomous, is informed by the death-defying stunts or claims of near-invincibility one sees in many energy drink advertisements. And what’s more, the purchase decision is affected by store display—as in the actual shelvin g and also the cans that the drinks are sold in. Might one’s decision to buy an energy

Hydraulic Fracturing And The Energy Boom Of The 1900 S

Since the energy boom of the 1900’s, new technology has become available to tap into natural gas deposits that have been out of reach since the beginning of time. The technology called hydraulic fracturing, or fracking for short, has erupted and could very well be the major economic boom of the century. â€Å"Hydraulic fracturing is a process that s been used to extract oil and natural gas since it was first introduced by Standard Oil in the 1940s.† (Hassett and Mathur 2014) The original process used by standard oil caused the company to boom and grow putting the company all over the map. As of today, fracking technology has advanced to the point where a new form of hydraulic fracturing is now available. This new form is called horizontal†¦show more content†¦With shale natural gas now on the horizon in the United States of America, many supporters of the horizontal hydraulic fracturing industry are looking at the economic benefits of fracking shale. The curren t horizontal drilling abilities provided â€Å"23.608 quadrillion Btu [of just shale natural gas alone] in 2011† (Hassett and Mathur 2014). This number in terms of energy production marked the â€Å"USA [as] the second largest natural gas producer† (Hassett and Mathur 2014) as of the year 2011. Since 2011, the production of natural gas in the United States has been raised even higher as more and more states lift their moratoriums on fracking and new natural gas hotspots are discovered. In the State of Pennsylvania, a huge shale natural gas deposit has been found that could hold an even larger chance for growth in energy production in the United States. This natural gas deposit called the Marcellus shale deposit actually â€Å"stretches 1,000 miles from New York to Virginia and is 300 miles across at the widest point† (Grottenthaler 2011). Most of this formation of shale natural gas lies in the Pennsylvania portion of the shale natural gas deposit containing roughly â€Å"$500 billion in recoverable gas† (Finkel 2011). Not only is this great for the economy in Pennsylvania, it is also a great sign for the economy in the rest of the United States as well. According to many experts on the

Project Management for Release Management - myassignmenthelp

Question: Discuss about theProject Management for Release Management. Answer: Product roadmap is a tool related to strategic product planning which gives an idea about the growing of the product that is made through several important releases. This helps to continue the purpose, increases the collaboration among stakeholders, helps to acquire funds and also makes the organization to coordinate easily in the development and launching of new products. On the other hand product backlog includes the works that are needed to make the product. Product backlog includes user stories, epics, storyboards and workflow diagrams. This is a tool which directs the development teams work. Release Management fits into product backlog because release management is the management of all the points of time that are involved when a brand new or some modified systems are delivered in the market and are used by the users. The release management fits in the product backlog because it deals with all the process and time that are done by the workers in making the product. The product level planning in an organization mainly occurs in four stages. The stages of product level planning are as follows: Description of the overall product- This specifies the description of all the product that is to be made in the project that is in progress. Breakdown Structure of the product- This stage involves the hierarchical or the complete decomposition of the product that is to be made. Product description of each project- This stage involves the precise and clear description of each and every product separately that is being made. Flow Diagram of the product- This stage is the last process of Product Level Planning. All the products in a project are taken in a sequence and place them in a way they are created in the project.

How does Robert Browning convey the feelings of narrator for the woman in each of the two poems Porphyrias Lover and My Last Duchess Essay Example For Students

How does Robert Browning convey the feelings of narrator for the woman in each of the two poems Porphyrias Lover and My Last Duchess Essay In Porphyrias Lover he wants to control her feelings when she finally does love him he kills her to control the fact that she does love him and she always will whereas if she were still alive she would stop loving him and he would have no control over that. The way the lover killed her in porphyrias lover is very sudden, and unexpected when you are reading it the start of the poem sounds like everything is fine and suddenly, he kills her. The reader expects that to happen because everything was going so well before, and why would he want to spoil it? But as you read on, it becomes clear. Porphyrias power is stopped when she tells him why she came: Murmuring how she loved me shes too weak, for all her hearts endeavour To set its struggling passion free From pride, and vainer ties dissever, And give herself to me forever. This is Porphyrias weak attempt at breaking-up with the lover. By murmuring she loses her pride. You can even imagine that she had come to him from a party when the speaker, later in the poem, says: tonights gay feast. By breaking-up with him she could possibly enjoy her evening with another man. Lust, a feeling closely linked with love. Porphyria knows that he needs her to care for him but does not want that kind of life any more. She tries to make this break-up less painful for her lover by saying that she would stay with him if she could, but cant. She lies to him. People lie a lot when love is involved due to the sensitivity of the issue. Due to the emotions the narrator is feeling begins to mislead himself, convincing himself that she enjoys his company and worships him and will give herself to him. As he convinces himself of this, he reaches the conclusion that she was his, the repeated word mine makes it clear that will do anything to stay with her. The Lover in Porphyrias Lover seems similar in the ways of being just as possessive and maybe more obsessive. However, the lover is very much in love with Porphyria and this is why he takes her life, as he killed her with her own hair when she told him that she loved him, that moment she was mine, mine. The fact that he was so overwhelmed and in love with her is shown by him killing her to save that moment and her love for him. Also, the man feels no guilt, he feels what he did is perfectly fine because God had not spoken against him, and God has not said a word. It is slightly different in My Last Duchess, because in that one it seems to be further in the past, like its history but in Porphyrias Lover it seems more recent, so it is more sudden. In My Last Duchess he doesnt make it so obvious that she has been killed I gave commands, and all smiles were stopped, it doesnt hit you straight away you have to think about it for a bit to work it out, which is different than in Porphyrias lover. The duke suggests that he has a craves of control. He describes how he is easy annoyed when she does not pay attention or treat him better than anyone else. It is easy to see that he could not control her, and it trying to do so she rebelled against him. .ufb94b329a49f9c1359c046814092bb7c , .ufb94b329a49f9c1359c046814092bb7c .postImageUrl , .ufb94b329a49f9c1359c046814092bb7c .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .ufb94b329a49f9c1359c046814092bb7c , .ufb94b329a49f9c1359c046814092bb7c:hover , .ufb94b329a49f9c1359c046814092bb7c:visited , .ufb94b329a49f9c1359c046814092bb7c:active { border:0!important; } .ufb94b329a49f9c1359c046814092bb7c .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .ufb94b329a49f9c1359c046814092bb7c { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .ufb94b329a49f9c1359c046814092bb7c:active , .ufb94b329a49f9c1359c046814092bb7c:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .ufb94b329a49f9c1359c046814092bb7c .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .ufb94b329a49f9c1359c046814092bb7c .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .ufb94b329a49f9c1359c046814092bb7c .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .ufb94b329a49f9c1359c046814092bb7c .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .ufb94b329a49f9c1359c046814092bb7c:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .ufb94b329a49f9c1359c046814092bb7c .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .ufb94b329a49f9c1359c046814092bb7c .ufb94b329a49f9c1359c046814092bb7c-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .ufb94b329a49f9c1359c046814092bb7c:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Endless Summer Nights EssayHe describes the duchess as a person with a kind personality stating that she he had a soft heart trying to criticise her nature. Racism in the Movie Crash Essay Example

Racism in the Movie Crash Essay Racism and prejudice have surrounded everyone worldwide for centuries and have been transmitted from generation to generation. Different skin color, different cultures, and beliefs is all something that causes racial discrimination. Many movies deal with this issue, and one of them is Crash, produced by Paul Haggis in 2004. The movie gives many examples of how prejudice and racism affects everyone and it also represents different ethnicities and the stereotypes we associate with each group. The first glimpse of racism and prejudice the viewer gets from the movie is from Officer Ryan who is played by Matt Dillon. Ryan is a middle-aged police officer in Los Angeles, California. Ryan is considered among the film’s most prejudiced characters, but he is also the one who develops the most throughout the whole story, from being a bigoted racist to a helpful person. In the beginning of the story, Officer Ryan constantly stereotypes black people and acts disrespectful. For example, when he talks to a woman named Shaniqua, an insurance representative who cannot help Ryan’s father who has issues with his bladder. First Ryan insults her on the phone, assuming she is African American based on her name and then he suggested that she is the main reason for his father’s health problems. Second, he insults her in person, telling her that she only got her job because of affirmative action policies. Everyone in this movie deals with personal issues. John’s main issue is his father, who suffers from prostate cancer. His father’s HMO plan will not cover treatment for his illness and this angers John a lot. John’s anger develops into prejudice toward minorities.
